Earthquake!
I was awakened at 3am by my bed shaking. Of course I was alarmed as I had seen footage and heard stories of earthquakes in California my whole life. Being a business traveler just visiting LA for 3 days I had thought the chances of being in an earthquake were slim, but here I was at 3am being shaken awake.
At breakfast that morning I asked my colleague if he had felt it. He hadn’t, and I joked that he must be a sound sleeper because it was a pretty good shake, he joked that I must have been dreaming.
The next morning at 3am I was again shaken awake. I thought here we go again! I got out of bed and went to the window to see if I could see anything, and to my surprise I did see something…. An Amtrack train speeding past.
